Myths and legends carry layers of meaning that can be understood by folks from all walks of life, regardless of their preoccupations.

The stories that many of us are told in childhood are supposed to be absorbed initially on a surface level, but if they linger in our memory banks, we are able to use them as maps or guidelines when we are faced with testing choices or decisions.

In the culture of my forebears, proverbs have a similar sort of significance. Having a repository of proverbs that can be applied to dealing with issues as they arise is regarded by many in that heritage as an indicator of wisdom and maturity.

Some of us are primarily inclined towards collating knowledge of this nature. Others are better at finding modes of application.

Is it possible that some of us are also present to facilitate the birthing of new myths and legends?
