A mindfulness session took me on a journey back to the point in my life when I knew that compliance culture was only one option out of several available for me to choose from.
In the moment of stillness, I remembered the sensation of looking at a menu of lifestyle choices. Perhaps I was more attuned to listening to my inner voice in those days, as I wasn’t confused about knowing what I wanted or needed.
A change of scene made me less confident. I needed time and space to case the joint and to adapt to other ways of life. Lifelong learning is healthy, but one should be careful in selecting the lessons.
Why would one mindfulness session unlock feelings that were lying dormant for so long? It was obviously the right time and place for an awakening.
Realignment with conscious awareness feels like home.
