Needless to say, traditions, customs and cultural mindsets are open to interpretation. Those of us who are keen observers sometimes aim to put new spins on old ways, often to the chagrin of those who know us well.
Who owns these modes of behaviour? If they were passed down by our forebears, then current ownership should be negotiable.
In some cases, one might not necessarily want to bear a torch for a way of being or doing things. It should be fine to draw inspiration.
Who knows what each person carries inside? Where do the new customs and traditions come from?
Links and connections are likely to thrive where personal truths are allowed to survive.
